Jason B. Suazo, D.V.M
As long as he can remember, Dr. Suazo has wanted to be a veterinarian. As a child, he devoured James Herriot's books, and knew that that's what he wanted to be--a veterinarian who created lifelong bonds through caring for animals and their people.
Dr. Suazo has spent his lifetime in and around "traditional" veterinary clinics--first as a client, later as an assistant, and finally as a veterinarian. After years as a client and an employee of a "traditional" clinic, he began to ask himself, "Am I really doing the best I can for these people and their pets?" After many sleepless nights, he realized that there was so much more that an animal hospital can offer--what if he could couple convenience with compassion? what if he could reduce his patients' stress? what if he could bring his practice to the people and their pets?
And that is when Mobile Veterinary Hospital was born. Dr. Suazo and his wife, Stacey, have poured their hearts and souls into this practice. Our goal is to offer you and your pet the very best veterinary medicine has to offer--and we bring it all to your front door!
Our Family
Many of you already know Dr. Suazo and his wife, Stacey. They both grew up in Brazoria County, Texas, and although they didn't meet until college, they both attended the same elementary school in Lake Jackson that their daughters, Claudia and Isabella, now attend.
Although he always wanted to be a veterinarian, Dr. Suazo got a bit sidetracked while he was in school at Texas A&M University, where he earned his B.S. in 1989. He and Stacey got married shortly after they graduated and moved to New Orleans, where Dr. J worked offshore for the oil industry. After a couple of years of seven days on and seven days off, it was time to move on. Dr. Suazo began taking classes at University of New Orleans, building up the prerequisites necessary to apply to veterinary school. At the same time, he went back to doing what he loved best--caring for animals, only this time as a zookeeper at Audubon Zoo. Finally, the day came--he applied and was accepted into veterinary school at Louisiana State University. The Suazos packed their bags and moved to Baton Rouge. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
Stacey Allen Suazo, Practice Manager
Dr. Suazo's wife, Stacey, graduated from Texas A&M in 1990 with a B.A. in English. After working several years as a waitress, then a copy writer for Audubon Institute, and finally as a freelance writer, Stacey realized that the time was ripe to pursue her interest in becoming an attorney. Since Jason was already in Veterinary School in Baton Rouge, she decided to go for broke (literally), and enrolled in Louisiana State University School of Law. So, four years, and two babies later, in 1998, the Suazos each earned their second degrees and headed as fast as they could for the Texas border and back to the Brazosport community where they both grew up.
Today, the Suazos live in Lake Jackson with their two daughters, Claudia and Isabella, and their ever-growing personal zoo. Stacey manages Mobile Veterinary Hospital & The Kennel at Stratton Ridge, and continues to practice law in the area of estate planning and elder law. When they're not working, the Suazos love traveling, cooking and wine-tasting, gardening, and tailgating at Texas Aggie football games in their '75 Airstream travel trailer.
